Worldview is all about ending the insanity of extreme child poverty, and it's run completely by volunteers. Worldview is not a charity and it doesn't accept donations. It teaches how and why child sponsorship works, and encourages everyone to be radically generous in supporting the world's largest and most trusted child sponsorship organizations:

Christian Children's Fund            Compassion           Plan           World Vision

Worldview also connects to  Make Poverty History,   Free The Children,   Unicef
and  Food Force,  the United Nations World Food Program's educational video game. Worldview's animated virtual tour is now used as a teacher's resource for the game!

The launch of the new Worldiew site represents a coalition of charities and  musicians from around the world to deliver a unified message...the insanity of extreme child poverty will no longer be tolerated.  Although there are many other worthwhile causes in this world, nothing can compare to the urgency of making this our top priority (which will ultimately address other important issues such as the AIDS pandemic and the environment) Yes, its' a huge problem, but it's totally fixable if enough of us do what we can to help just one child.

It all started in the spring of 2004 with the  launch of Friends - a group of individuals with a passion for ending extreme child poverty and a website with the slightly radical tagline "We don't want your money, we just want your heart"  People started to take notice,  and the international reputation of this tiny grassroots movement from Canada with no real structure, executive committee or fundraising campaign began to grow.  Anyone with a heart for children could go to the site and print off letters, posters and brochures to create their own Friends Project to spread the word about child sponsorship and the amazing work done by the four featured charities.

Encouraged by the huge success of the Make Poverty History campaign in 2005, plans began for a high tech website that would appeal to kids.  After enlisting voice talent and technical expertise from some like-minded friends, site creator Stephen Jarnick put together the Worldview animated virtual tour that made learning about child sponsorship fun. Shortly after the launch in early 2006 a representative from the World Food Program in Rome contacted the group to set up a mutual link to connect their sites.

July 2007 marks the next phase for Worldview. Realizing the need for international cooperation, the Worldviewers started a search for great music videos by artists from around the world who shared their commitment to the fight against child poverty.  The result is an incredibly exciting project where all of the featured artists are empowered to be advocates for child sponsorship in their countries. Unlike many other websites, Worldview never runs the risk of becoming boring and stale because of the steady stream of new videos and new artists coming on board.

If any of us came face to face with a child living in extreme poverty, dying of starvation or a preventable disease, it would just be our normal human reaction to want to do something about it. Somehow, living in our relatively comfortable bubbles, apathy and selfishness often seem like socially acceptable behaviors, and we find it far too easy to either ignore what's happening in the world, or tell ourselves that we really can't do anything to make it any better.

They're counting on you to be an example for others - to get going instead of focusing on the excuses.

"It's great if people think that this is the coolest site on the planet but it's not worth much if it doesn't motivate them to act" says Jarnick "We really hope that after checking out the charities they'll say to themselves "Today's the day I'm going to start sponsoring a child."
